Verdict
djay turns a phone or iPad into a two- or four-deck DJ set, and its Automix will blend a playlist on its own for a party. Its Neural Mix splits vocals, drums and instruments in real time, which Digital DJ Tips says now leads rival DJ software, but it doesn't work on tracks streamed from Spotify or Apple Music. Pro costs £6.99 a month in the UK App Store, cheap for DJ software.

What people say
Hobby DJs in user reviews say Neural Mix 'works very well', and casual users like Automix for hands-off listening. The main complaint is that stems are blocked on Spotify and Apple Music streams, which surprises paying users. Store ratings (4.61 iOS, 4.0 Play) broadly match the mostly positive user reviews tone.

FAQ
Is djay free?
The app is free with core two-deck mixing. Neural Mix stems, AI Automix and four decks need Pro, listed at £6.99 in the UK App Store, with a 7-day trial.
Does djay work with Spotify?
Only on Mac and Windows since September 2025, and Neural Mix and recording don't work on Spotify tracks. On iPhone and Android it connects to Apple Music, TIDAL, SoundCloud and Beatport instead.
Can djay DJ a party by itself?
Yes. Automix picks intro and outro points and blends a playlist with beat-matched transitions, and a maximum song length can be set.
djay vs Serato or rekordbox?
djay is cheaper and works on phones and tablets. Clubs still expect rekordbox-prepared USB drives, and Serato has deeper hardware support.
