What it does

Claude Cowork hands a task to Claude, which then works across chosen folders, apps and the browser to produce finished decks, documents or spreadsheets. It can run scheduled tasks and shows each step as it goes. Anthropic launched it as a macOS research preview in January 2026 and in September 2026 began merging Cowork and chat into one Claude experience.
